Join the FAIR Steering Committee




The FAIR Network is opening a call for expressions of interest for LSHTM staff, students and alumni to join the Network's Steering Committee. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the work of our unique and impactful Network and contribute to racial equity and decolonial practice at LSHTM.


The FAIR Network Steering Committee provide oversight of and takes strategic decisions on the Network’s mandate and priorities, including;

  • Projects and initiatives (both commissioned and self-organised)

  • Commentaries and campaigns

  • Governance of The FAIR Network

  • Engagement with stakeholders internal and external to LSHTM

  • Involvement in wider LSHTM initiatives connected to anti-racism and decoloniality

  • Horizon scanning.

The Steering Committee is composed of current and former LSHTM staff, students, and alumni and is Chaired by a serving member of the Steering Committee. The Committee are supported by the FAIR Network Coordinator.


Members participate in Steering Committee activities on a voluntary basis. Should members choose to take part in any commissioned project work, they will be compensated for their time in line with a pre-established remuneration structure mutually agreed by FAIR and the LSHTM Executive Team. Further details of the commissioning structure, as well as frequency of committee meetings and member commitments and expectations can be found in the FAIR Network Terms of Reference attached.


If you are interested in joining the Steering Committee, please submit a short (under 500 word) expression of interest outlining your interest in the work of the committee and your relevant background/experience to fair@lshtm.ac.uk by 10pm Friday 3rd March.
